Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony to Co-Headline Tour in Support of Youth Fitness

SEPT 29, 2007

Superstars Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will co-headline their first tour together — Lopez’s first tour ever — this fall. The multi-city tour will benefit ING’s Run For Something Better school based fitness program. The kick-off performance is set for September 29 in Atlantic City.

Lopez and Anthony will perform separate sets of their own material as well as a joint set — both including songs in English and Spanish.

Jennifer Lopez has sold more than 17 million records worldwide and is a fixture at the top of the Billboard charts. Marc Anthony is the top-selling salsa artist of all time — he’s raked in Grammys, Latin Grammys and is the top Premio lo Nuestro winner in history.

One dollar from every ticket sold on Jennifer & Marc en Concierto will benefit ING Run For Something Better®, a program designed to introduce kids to healthy lifestyle choices. The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), ING’s charitable partner for the multi-city tour, will direct the funds into schools with high Latino enrollment.

All concert attendees can also make a donation of ten dollars or more at the concert venues, to the IRFSB program and receive a pair of ING orange shoelaces as a token of our appreciation.

“When I was a kid, we spent most of our time outside visiting in the neighborhood with friends,” says Lopez. “This is the first generation of kids who are so sedentary and the first whose parents might outlive them. I was really happy to have our tour provide a platform for ING’s program.”

“Preventing childhood obesity during the school years is critical, and nowhere more so than in the Latin community, where the incidence of diabetes is high and growing,” said Anthony. “We need to act quickly to reverse the trend, or our kids will live sicker and die younger than any before them.”
